Location
When it comes to magnificent impressions we thankfully can say that we are quite spoilt. Spoilt with fresh air, clear views and beautiful colours, calming sounds, nature’s spectacles, and... peace. We are very grateful for being able to live in this beautiful part of the world:
Langtaufers – or as the Italiens say, Vallelunga – is a remote, unaffected valley which clearly draws its attractions from its pureness. Our little mountain farm at 1850m altitude is situated almost at the end of the valley where it quite stunningly dissolves into the alpine world of the glaciers.
Though we live at such a high altitude the climate here is very pleasant thanks to our location on the South side of the Alps – and also this is the allergy-free zone, quite a gift for people suffering from asthma or hayfever!
And when the lowlands are awfully hot and sticky in summer we can indulge in warming sun, and clear air. The winters are of the sort you would find in a picture book: a complete duvet of snow peacefully covering the landscape – mostly in perfect combination with blue skies, bright sunshine, and cristal clear air. Hikers, and skiers alike will find their eldorado!
However, although we enjoy our peaceful retreat anew every day we must not make sacrifices when it comes to culture, and points of interest: The Vinschgau valley is full of historic legacy from people who long before us witnessed the charms, and conveniances of this land. Thus you can visit the charming medieval village of Glurns, the monastery of St. Johann (UNESCO World Heritage) in the Müstair Valley, the Churburg Castle in Schluderns, and of course the cities of Meran and Bozen to mention only a few.
Any way you put it: the Vinschgau is always worth a visit, and we will be happy to provide your holiday home amidst its beauty!
